David Magdol

David Magdol has worked in various areas of principal investing, investment banking, and commercial banking over his 27-year career. David currently serves as the President and Chief Investment Officer at Main Street Capital Corporation (NYSE ticker: MAIN), an investment company he founded with four partners in 2002 and took public in 2007. Main Street provides customized financing solutions to lower middle market and middle market companies operating in diverse industry sectors. Main Street and its related funds currently manage over $4.1 billion of investment capital and make investments ranging from $10 million to $75 million in companies with annual revenues ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion. David serves as the Chairman of Main Street’s four-member Investment Committee is also responsible for sourcing, closing and managing a portfolio of private equity and debt investments for Main Street.

Prior to joining Main Street, David was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC. While at Lazard, his primary responsibilities included new business development and execution of M&A transactions on behalf of the firm’s clients. From 1996 to 2000, David served as a Vice President of McMullen Group, a private equity investment firm capitalized by Dr. John J. McMullen, the ex-owner of the Houston Astros baseball team and New Jersey Devils hockey team. His responsibilities encompassed all aspects of managing a portfolio of private equity investments, including identifying new investment opportunities, negotiating acquisitions/dispositions of portfolio companies and overseeing the operations of certain McMullen owned companies.

David graduated from Skidmore College with a BA in Sociology and a concentration in Business Administration.
