What I’m Bringing to the Stage at WOTC West
Every time I attend a Women of the Channel event, I walk away reminded of just how powerful shared experience can be. This year, I’ll be back at Women of the Channel West, and I’m excited to be speaking again.
This will be my fourth time attending a WOTC event, and I’ve had the opportunity to share my story and talk about Televerde’s second-chance business model at previous events. For this year’s event, I’m bringing something a little different to the stage—a talk titled “Overcoming Scarlet Letters.”
I’ll be giving a talk about the invisible labels that many women impacted by incarceration carry, and how those “scarlet letters” don’t have to define us. They can fuel us. My goal is to tell the truth, and not just the feel-good stuff, but the reality of what it means to rebuild. To be seen. To be trusted. And to be given a chance to perform at the highest levels. Because that’s exactly what our teams at Televerde do every day, and I’m looking forward to sharing the real results from our work with clients.
This event, and the community around it, really matter to me on a personal level. WOTC has been one of the most valuable platforms for me, and the relationships I’ve built here have led to real opportunities. In fact, WOTC has helped open the door to other stages and partnerships. One of my favorite examples is BlackHawk Data CEO Maryann Pagano, who first met my team and me at WOTC East in 2023. We kept reconnecting at future events, and the relationship has continued to grow. Maryann recently came to visit our Perryville call centers, and we’ll be sharing the stage at the upcoming BlackHawk Data Women in Tech Roundtable in NYC on June 11. And it all started with a conversation at WOTC.
So if you’re attending WOTC West this year, I’d love to connect with you. Let’s talk about what it means to lead with purpose, to challenge assumptions, and to push beyond labels—not just because it feels good, but because it drives real results.
See you there.
