Celebrating Televerde Foundation’s Impact on National Nonprofit Day
Today marks National Nonprofit Day, a moment for us at Televerde to celebrate our partnership with the Televerde Foundation. Our work together continues to transform lives by providing pathways from incarceration to community integration, not just for the incarcerated women who make up Televerde but for others who are impacted by incarceration and seeking a fresh start.
Our journey in providing reentry support began two decades ago with internal programs. However, we soon recognized that our business managers weren’t equipped to handle sensitive areas such as life skills training, financial literacy, substance use recovery, and family reintegration. A strategic shift became essential.
That transformation culminated in the creation of the Televerde Foundation in 2020. Under the leadership of Michelle Cirocco, a graduate of our program, the Foundation has not only thrived but also significantly expanded our capabilities.
Now, women in our program across three states and five correctional facilities receive the expert support they need to overcome challenges, rejoin their families, and repair relationships, particularly with their children. These elements are essential in supporting the whole self and enabling successful societal reintegration.
Beyond the Televerde Effect
Focused initially on assisting Televerde associates, the Foundation’s mission has impressively expanded, reaching women outside the Televerde program in Arizona, Indiana, and Florida. This growth is a testament to the Foundation’s commitment to advancing women through empowerment and education.
The Televerde Foundation’s approach to reentry addresses everything from business education to health and wellness and personal betterment. Its success is evident in its recidivism rate of 0 percent. By providing services like life skills training, professional development, career readiness, job placement, and transitional and professional mentoring, the Foundation equips women with the tools needed for successful societal reintegration. They leave prison ready to emerge as consummate caregivers, business professionals, and community leaders.
These women rise through the ranks, becoming small business owners, healthcare professionals, top sales leaders at global tech companies, and Salesforce admins. Their successes are a direct result of a program dedicated to the whole self—the yin and yang that’s Televerde and Televerde Foundation.
Every day, we see the difference in promotions earned, soaring credit scores, debt overcome, college degrees attained, families reunited, and the keys to new homes and cars. Each milestone represents a pivotal moment when opportunity and the right investments have materialized into real, substantial, and life-changing rewards.
Celebrating Nonprofits
On National Nonprofit Day, it’s essential to recognize the pivotal role of nonprofits like the Televerde Foundation in driving sustainable change. Their efforts make long-term differences in individuals’ lives and enhance their communities. The success of the Televerde Foundation underscores the impact of comprehensive support systems and the importance of community and corporate partnerships in fostering societal change.
As we celebrate today, we thank the Televerde Foundation. The entire team continues to change lives and set standards for how nonprofits can extend their reach and deepen their impact. By supporting and empowering individuals inside and outside of Televerde, the Foundation builds bridges to new beginnings, proving that every person deserves the opportunity to rewrite their story.
