Televerde Selects Morag Lucey as Chief Executive Officer
Televerde, the global sales and marketing solutions provider, has selected Morag Lucey as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ms. Lucey assumes the CEO role from longtime Chief Executive, Jim Hooker, who is retiring after a successful career, with the last 24 years spent leading Televerde.
“Televerde’s vision of providing best-in-class sales and marketing services via a socially responsible business model is Jim Hooker’s legacy and one that Morag is keen to continue. Morag has a passionate commitment to provide opportunity for disempowered communities, which is one of the many reasons the Board of Directors chose Morag to succeed Jim and lead Televerde,” said Vince Barsolo, senior vice president of operations at Televerde. “Morag is coming to Televerde at a time when we’re organized and positioned to move to the next level both in terms of serving our clients and expanding our corporate social responsibility platform to other geographies and disempowered communities around the world.”
In her role as CEO, Ms. Lucey will oversee all Televerde’s operations. She comes to Televerde with 25 years of leadership and marketing experience, with emphasis on strategy, digital demand generation and account-based marketing, and product management. She was the Chief Marketing Officer at both Avaya and BAE Systems, previously served as CEO for VirtualCMO Limited, and gained expertise in senior marketing positions at Convergys and SAP, to name a few.
“I am honored to lead this incredible company and to continue the Televerde legacy of providing best-in-class sales and marketing services through a business model that not only makes sense but changes lives,” said Ms. Lucey. “Televerde has made its mark as a valued strategic partner for its clients while providing training and career opportunities for incarcerated women. During my tenure, we will grow our client base and support them by expanding our business model to provide opportunity for other disempowered communities. I believe in and am truly inspired by Televerde’s approach to business and will focus on helping other businesses, whether clients or peers, embrace our socially responsible approach.”

Televerde’s commitment to working with disempowered populations, notably incarcerated women in the United States, has produced remarkable results both for clients and communities over the past 20 years. Nearly 2,500 women have worked for Televerde while they were incarcerated, and the company currently employs 350+ women at five locations in Arizona and Indiana. Almost 30 women who have been released from prison have gone on to earn college degrees while working for Televerde at its corporate headquarters. Most importantly, the recidivism rate for women who have worked for Televerde is less than 5.5 percent, dramatically lower than national averages, which range from 50 to 70 percent.
